25 Plastic 6″ Rulers
These handy rulers fit inside our Portable Art Studio boxes and they help children to be more precise with their lines.
In the early levels, a ruler is not necessary but some children find using one helps their drawings look more exact and to them, better.
After completing the Foundation level the drawing lessons start to become more complex. Having an exact ruler will help with the labeling or precise lines of the math or engineering drawings.
The 6″ size is nice because it’s easier to handle by little hands and easy to store away when the lessons are done for the day.

No matter how much he eats from it, the bowl magically refills itself. For the first time in a long time, the old man isn’t hungry. Then he discovers that the bowl can refill itself with other things — even his one copper coin — and now it looks like he’ll never want for anything again! His excitement makes him careless, however, and as he hurries off to spend some of his new wealth, he leaves the bowl right side up. And who can say what might get into the Full Belly Bowl in his absence? Fully realized in Wendy Halperin’s beautiful and intricate illustrations, Jim Aylesworth’s whimsical folktale will delight readers while striking a note of caution… ”

The cards are printed on card stock and come in a durable hard plastic case. The top is meant to be used as a base for this week’s card. The inserts are for dividing the cards into levels or for separating the cards you have memorized f ram the ones you are still working on.
Enjoy the beautiful illustrations and uplifting messages, week after week.
Cost: $40
Illustrated Peace Flags
Wendy designed these flags from peace quotes that children had written during her time creating and promoting her book PEACE.
There are 15 different flags in total. They are printed on heavy cardstock, strung together with embroidery thread and separated with clear beads.
They are decorative and are a great addition to any room.
Cost: $30
Illustrated Peace Table
Wendy designed the illustrated top that is printed on waterproof, vinyl, embossed over laminate. It is more scuff resistant and you are able to spray and wipe clean as needed.
The four legs are fixed with screw tops that fit into attached female components on the underside of the table. The legs twist into place for ease of shipping.
The table is 24.5″ square, with a .25″ gray trim border surrounding the table image.
The tabletop is .75″ high.
Floor to top of the table is 28.25″.
Cost: $300
Classroom Set of Supplies
Included in this kit:
25 Portable Art Studio boxes
25 Boxes of 64 Crayola brand crayons
50 Dixon Ticonderoga Tri-Write pencils
50 Penci I top erasers
25 Dua I hole sharpeners
25 Library Folder boxes
25 Rulers
In DCIR we have drawing lessons to enrich the lives of pre-school through 2nd-grade students. In schools, these kit supplies are used with students for three years from K – 2nd grade. When the student finishes 2nd grade, we recommend giving the students their crayons, pencils, and erasers but the sharpener, ruler and box get recycled back to the new kindergarten students. If your budget allows for giving the whole box away, with all its supplies, we encourage that. The box is useful at any age and lasts a long time.
Kit Cost: $400
25 Get A Grip Pins
Wendy designed these to be used as a possible “carrot” to dangle for helping to encourage a child to change their incorrect pencil grip. These can be given out to students who have worked on and corrected their grip. Correcting a grip is work for a student who has trained their hand to hold the writing implement differently than the pincer grip. It is possible to change with practice and the pin is a nice bonus for doing so.
They are attractive, durable, and measure l.25″ across.
Classroom Set of Pins Cost: $23.50
Creative Writing Station, with tabs
This box is designed to fit three stacks of half sheet papers. We have added another feature for classrooms and homes that want to have more than three paper files printed and on hand. One can store their plain half sheets of paper in the first compartment, graph paper for warm-ups in the middle section, and then use the tabs to divide the other papers printed for using in the project or just drawing for fun.
There are 8 tabs included which are cut to fit inside the last section of the Creative Writing Station box. Label inserts are also included.
This is constructed of durable cardboard, can be painted and decorated to your liking. We’ve also included stickers to help decorate if you choose.
Cost: $15
Teacher Crayon Organizer Box
This great resource was designed so a classroom teacher can introduce only the crayon colors used for this week’s lesson and store the remaining crayons in one organized space.
There are 32 compartments in this box that is roughly the size of a large, double-stacked pizza box. It is made of durable cardboard and fits 25 sets of crayons bundled by color, with two colors per compartment.
We have had teachers using the same box for over 10 years and it’s still holding up just fine.
Box Cost: $15
25 Library Folder Boxes
The set comes unfolded yet with easy instructions for assembling.
We designed these boxes to hold all the papers and half sheet books you and your students will make throughout the school year.
They are constructed from thick durable cardboard and come with labels to write student names on for ease of finding student folders.
If cared for we have seen these last for years. It is a great way to organize all those impressive drawings and books made by the little people in your life.
Boxes Cost: $50
25 Pencil Top Erasers
These fit perfectly on the tip of a pencil and are angled to help erase those hard to get spaces. During a drawing lesson, sometimes we are not satisfied with our line and want to erase to redraw that line. In doing so, the pencil eraser wears out faster than the pencil itself. Having these handy eraser tops will allow you to keep using your great pencils even after the eraser has long been erased.
Erasers Cost: $6.50
Dual Hole Sharpener
This well-made pencil and crayon sharpener fits into our Portable Art Studio box and has an all-metal sharpener. The plastic container attached allows for shavings to collect neatly without the mess. We have found that when students have this in their own box, they don’t use the classroom sharpener which can be bothersome and disruptive.
We want the eyes to have a tip to go to during the writing and drawing process and this sharpener will help with that. Hand-eye coordination is a skill that is strengthened with drawing and having sharp implements to use helps to guide the eyes to the point of doing the work.
This sharpener has been used as a “carrot” to dangle for children for when they get the correct pencil grip.
Sharpener Cost: $6
25 Dixon Ticonderoga Tri-Write Pencils
These well-made pencils have lead in them that is durable and will hold up a long time. The pencils are triangular in shape so they help one to grip the pencil with the proper pencil grip.
Having a proper grip will aid in helping the hand be able to have the stamina for lengthy writing assignments and allows for bending of the fingers in the writing process.
We connect to our brain through our hands so bending the fingers and utilizing the amazing thumb is important. It’s never too late to correct the grip but it is easier in the early years before an incorrect grip is established. When helping children to correct their grip, we encourage parents & teachers to have these pencils on hand to help with this correction.
Box Cost: $7.00
25 Boxes of 64 Crayola Brand Crayons
These are the crayons that Miss Wendy recommends for coloring. The wax mixes well with other crayons and provides less streaking when using them.
In the Foundation Level, a viewer will be introduced to a few new colors each lesson. We suggest that the new colors are the colors a child gets to add to their Portable Art Studio box. Every week, as Miss Wendy introduces new colors, children are given their new crayons to put into their crayon organizer box. When giving them out slowly the new colors tend to become the special colors and children take care of them better. If they are given all 64 colors at once the desired effect is often the opposite.
Unleash the happiness of crayons in your classroom.
Boxes Cost: $75
25 Portable Art Studio Box, assembled

Fiskars Preschool Training Scissors
In our world we believe that children should use scissors at a young age, while being supervised of course. This skill helps for little people to connect to their thumbs and begins the process of identifying with and strengthening their amazing tool, their thumb.
These scissors can be used by both left and right-handed children. They have mental blades but also rounded tips for added protection. The spring allows for a bounce-back and helps with the up and down motion required to cut using scissors.
Be sure to watch the scissor film about a fun project to make for little people to enjoy the processing of cutting and using their non-dominant hand to hold the paper. It can be found under the preschool lessons, on the last page, at the end.
